Hard Nut Life

Hard Nut Life was our final project on the Computer Animation masters. Produced by Jo Samuel, Nathanael Bennett, Simon Taylor and myself over 3 months, we were responsible for every aspect of its production, from the initial story concept to the final render.

Fur simulation

One of my jobs on the film was creating dynamic fur for the squirrels. For this we used Joe Alter's Shave and a Haircut plugin for Maya. Each of the main cast of squirrels was textured and styled to have an individual look. Unfortunately, after various technical issues we only had the time and equipment to render the film without fur.

Howletts Explorer

As part of our final year multimedia project, I created a short intro animation and animated circular menu for our Flash-based edutainment CD.
